One of those projects includes boring and honing the cylinders of a Mitsubishi 4G63 engine, found in Evo 8 and 9, Galant, Eclipse and Talon models. One of the things weve learned: A torque plate is a must-have.

The process of torqueing a head down on the block includes a phase where pressure from the bolts can cause the cylinder bore to slightly deform. Thats bad news. A torque plate takes the place of the head during machining, simulating any distortion and leaving a true cylindrical shape behind. It also gives your machine operator easy access to the bores.

Our plate is made from thick billet aluminum, features spacers for proper depth and penetration into the block and can work with bore sizes up to 88 mm. With this plate, youll get durability to last through countless engine projects, so tell your friends. Or dont they may put you to work.
